This works as it should but the plastic bumper came loose and almost fell into my master cylinder so I would just check that before using it. you don't need the bumper imo and you can easily epoxy it back into place if yours falls out too

Did exactly what I needed.
Good tool to have, not expensive. This tool is a piston stop, it “stops” the piston by screwing into the spark plug and will only allow the crankshaft to turn so much one way or the other. This is useful for removing any nuts in the crankshaft itself. Worked perfectly for me.

Required work before use
The tool I received worked well, but only after I cleaned the threads on it. Everything was well packaged and in new condition. At first, It did not screw into my aluminum head, and would thread about 3/4 of a turn before binding and cross-threading. It required the use of a thread file (1.25 pitch) to clean the threads before it could be screwed into the head properly without damaging the spark plug bore. It took me about 15 minutes of workin the tool before I could use it. A die or re-threader would have made quicker work, but I didn't have it in that size.
