In the tradition of Street Fighter II and Art of Fighting comes Doomsday Warrior, which separates itself from the 2D fighting pack by letting winning players add to their various powers (such as vital power, which determines how quickly the fighter can recover hit points). Other distinguishing characteristics include the ability to choose your opponent and an easy mode, which makes this title great for beginners. Smooth controls and user-friendly fighting techniques help in this respect as well. Each of the seven available fighters has his or her own combination of basic punches and kicks, and each has individualized special moves, none of which are listed in the manual. The game lacks the brutality and explosive action of the best fighters on the market, and the weak sound effects and music are horribly inappropriate. However, the graphics are detailed and nicely drawn, and the gameplay is above average.
