      Great Product, Lousy Customer Service

      The dvr+ does everything it is supposed to - feels just like the 3 AT&T boxes I just got rid of in terms of the channel menu and recording / viewing procedures; picture is flawless with the Clearstream 2v UHD antenna I installed. I purchased the open box factory repaired dvr+, with a 1tb hard drive built-in directly from Channel Master - same warranty and it sells for $100 less than new ones. Paying Channel Master for the hard drive seemed more convenient than purchasing a new one and syncing it to their machine, and the cost was virtually the same as having bought another hard drive at Costco or Amazon. The unit arrived in a few days in a sealed package with an inspection tag and number. Word of caution... do not expect support from Channel Master. I sent them a question regarding poor ...

      My experience with channel master

      I ordred the channel master becuase I did notwant to slowly bled by TIVO subscriptions. I retuned it because I wam still not sure it works on dish. so, I cannot honestly rate it.

      It's amazing!

      This Channel Master is great. I have recorded shows every day with no problem at all. It was easy to set up and the learning curve for operating it was minimal. If you are looking to "cut the cord" this will make your life easy if you DVR a lot of shows. Also plays Sling TV with guide. It will not record programming on Sling TV. It also supports Vudu. The 1TB eliminates the need for an external hard drive needed with the older models. I am very satisfied with my purchase, and would recommend if you are ready to ditch the cable racquet.

      Cutting the Cord

      I have had a TV content provider for a long time. I calculated the monthly cost since inception. A staggering $7200.00. I bought an antenna and this Channel Master DVR. I already had Amazon Video and Netflix account. I love this DVR. It's slim design is great. The remote is easy to program and use. The guide screen is very similar to cable providers. If you are thinking of cutting the cord. This is the unit you want.

      Pleased so far...

      I purchased a OTA , so having a DVR seemed like the thing to do. Likes: Unit is smaller than I thought it would be. On screen guide is similar to cable company's. Unit was easy to attach to TV . I like having VUDU,Pandora and YouTube. Compared picture quality of this DVR to cable company's DVR and can not tell the difference. Dislikes: Controller is smaller than cable company's . Once I program in a recorded show and save it, the guide goes back to today's date and time. I will provide updates on this unit as I continue to save money from the cable company !! 3/2/17 : Have had the unit in use now since 1/12/17. The DVR is working great ! The only thing I would have liked to have is the NETFLIX app. I use the Pandora app all the time. The internet is hooked directly into the DVR , ...
