Deluxe edition includes three bonus tracks. 2015 release. The Enya creative triumvirate - Enya, producer and sound engineer Nicky Ryan, and lyricist Roma Ryan - started work on the album in the spring of 2012. Inspired by Roma's work on a series of poetry books themed around islands and specifically the island of Sark's decision to be designated as a dark sky island, the album's title track was the first song to be written for the collection. The album's buoyantly optimistic first single "Echoes in Rain" possesses an irresistible surge of globe-trotting euphoria which made it an obvious choice as the album's lead track. While it shares the adventurous themes of Enya's breakthrough hit "Orinoco Flow," it's rhythmic march instead celebrates the anticipation of a journey's end.

    "Besides being one of her best albums to date, this CD is a wonderful buy. The Songs are all beautiful and inspiring, the CD slipcase itself, is light and easy to store, if you love Enya and her musical legacy, this album is a must to own.     More Enya Excellence

    I've been an Enya fan since the release of her second album, Watermark, back in 1988. I have purchased every one of her albums and have been pleased with each of them. Dark Sky Island continues with her tradition of excellence in song and words. I recommend this album and believe it will certainly not disappoint any sincere Enya fan.

    Enya is still Great!

    If you love Enya then you'll love this new album. Some say that she hasn't changed her style (much anyway), I say don't fit it if it's not broken, Enya has been immensely popular and unique. This album is more of the same GREAT music.

    Cheap packaging, good music

    The word "Deluxe" refers to the disc having three extra tracks, not the packaging. I wasn't sure what was meant by "slipcase" in the description. It turned out to be a cheap cardstock folder to hold a booklet and the disc, fashioned somewhat like a tri-fold wallet. It still fits in a rack slot designed for one-disc jewel boxes and the design keeps the disc safely inside. Warner Music may have been looking for a way to pinch a few cents. As for the music, it is typical Enya and I like it. I'm a long-time fan and now own more than six hours of Enya's material.
