Entertaining and funny cartoons of the legendary spinach eating Sailor!
Excellent playing copies of cartoons of the legendary character, Popeye the Sailor. The cartoons of Max and Dave Fleischer have been brilliantly restored to a quality not seen since they premiered in the 1930s. Excellent additional commentary by animation historians and animators as well as small documentaries on the history of these unique cartoons and their creators. And finally bonus cartoons from the Fleischer brothers that they made in the 1910s and 1920s when animation was in its infancy. The only objectionable items are the Leftist warning labels put on two of the discs. The cartoons are as funny now as when they were first seen nearly ninety years ago.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Accept no substitutes. These are the original Fleischer Studios Popeye cartoons in chronological order. Most of them I've never seen before, or I can't remember them looking and sounding this good ever before. They've been expertly restored for DVD, much better than those bargain basement public domain DVDs I settled for in the early 2000's. Before Bob Clampett and Tex Avery revived the Looney Tunes and invented Bugs Bunny & Co, these were the funniest cartoons ever made, and they still hold up beautifully.
