      When I first decided to go through with the purchase I was apprehensive. I had never purchased an item that wasn’t NEW. This was described as NEW (OTHER). The other reason that made me apprehensive was that the seller didn’t accept returns. So, this type of purchase was a first. The seller did make it clear to “READ DESCRIPTION” which included 22 photos. As I have learned pictures don’t always show the true condition of anything.       The VidBox saved the day...and the recordings!

      I bought this because my VHS/DVD player wasn't able to dub videos to dvd any more. The technology is old and this helped me record them to my MacBook Pro and then copy them to a DVD. The only problem, and it might be the DVDs, is that some of the DVDs would not play on a DVD player to view on TV. Some did and some didn't. I could definitely play them on my MBP on which they were recorded, so again, it might be some incompatibility with old and new technology, but it did give me a way to preserve old family videos. The VidBox is very easy to use though, no big problem setting it up and easy to follow instructions as it leads you through the setup. It's actually better because it preserves them on the laptop and you can either make a DVD for backup storage or record to a flash drive. Either ...

      It worked for me using an apple computer

      I am spending my time at home digitizing my 8mm home videos which are nearly 30 years old. I was successful at getting my video camera to play the videos and this device connected easily to my apple pro computer and I digitized nearly 40 hours of videos in MP4 format. A cost effective solution.

      Works reasonably well to copy your movies to computer.

      Purchased to backup our aging VHS movies and family videos. It was very easy to install and came with everything needed to connect VHS player to the computer's usb port. Software is easy to run, although a little redundant as you have to click through the same screens every time. But, not really a complaint as we are getting the movies backed up. Your movies are recorded and saved into a folder, of which you can file and organize as desired. The file size for the movies are between 2GB and 3.5GB per movie up to 2 hours. You could back up 300+ tapes on a terabyte drive! note: remember to name your movie before pressing the record button!
