Does Most Things Right
The S5 does most things right, but it has some major weaknesses. The screen resolution and camera can compete with the best phones out there. Samsung seems a lot like Microsoft, they install really cheap, basic apps that aren't very customizable. I ended up buying a few apps online to replace the clunky, archaic junk that Samsung installed. The processor is lightning fast, and loading apps is very fast. Sound, call quality, and reception are average. A sore spot is the battery life. It seems to be more of a Lollipop OS problem than a Samsung issue, but for a top of the line phone, Samsung should have put more effort into it. I installed a Battery Doctor app, and it dramatically increased battery life, but still not up to the level of even my cheaper LG D415 with KitKat OS. I also found the Samsung UI very clunky and not very intuitive to use. With the right tweaks, the S5 can be a great phone. As it comes out of the box, a bit of as disappointment for the price. Hopefully the Marshmallow upgrade will fix a lot of these bugs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

I still have to get use to all of its new features from what I had before. The only thing that I don't like is it doesn't have enough volume, hard to hear at times. I like the large screen. Nice Andraiod phone
Have 2 S3s and they are nice but one is buggy with short battery life one is good but internet not so good. So far S5 has made a possitive step in the internet area, battery life is Ok in the save power mode. It is getting old and may need a new battery soon. Great phone
This phone is awesome. There really is no need to spend the extra money to get a galaxy 7. Unless you are the type of person who needs the latest and greatest. The phone has pretty much the same features, more than most people need. The camera is crisp and shoots really good photos. Processing speed is fast. Overall great package and feel in hand. The water resistant feature is a definite plus, you can take this phone out on the water with you with piece of mind if it goes in the water with you it will continue to work. Nice big clear screen
I like the phones size, at 50+ need a bit bigger screen for reading maps, etc. It's thin enough, with the case it's a bit bulky, but a fine trade off for being able to see text better. The battery life is better than my old Samsung - over a day is good. Getting used to the updated software apps. I had an older phone. I was lucky to find this great older series Samsung Galaxy S5 Brand New. All the accessories were there. I noticed there were applications on this phone that were not on my previous Samsung Galaxy S5. Also this phone's Android version had already been updated to 6.1. On the previous phone, I had to update it myself and it took hours. For my purpose this phone is great and easy for me to use. I love the fact that I can replace the battery when it goes south. Many of the newer models I was told you might need a new phone when the battery goes south. I was lucky to find a dealer who was local. I ordered on Monday and had the new phone Tuesday night. Wow.
