A wonderfully engaging insight into Los Angeles.
For anyone living in (or interested in) Los Angeles, this is a must read. Banham is a brilliant writer and though this book was first published literally 50 years old, it remains absolutely fresh. The buildings he describes largely still exist and his historical observations remain dead on. Banham brings his considerable wit to the table as well.
