    A Gold Standard of Multimeters

    The Simpson 260 Series 6P is part of a venerable line of professional grade volt-ohm-milliammeters (aka multimeters or multitesters). The 260 debuted in the late 1930s and has been in continuous production ever since. The Series 6P is the second in the 260 line to feature overload protection with a white circuit breaker button on the front panel and improves upon its direct predecessor, the Series 5P in that it uses a standard 9v battery instead of an oddball and obsolete 15v battery. All Simpson 260 meters are built to be serviced, repaired, and calibrated so they can offer decades of dependable use. Leaking batteries are the biggest problem to look out for when buying these meters second hand as they can damage the battery contacts, as well as other internal components, if left long ...

    Best packing ever

    This was so well packed it was great bubble wrap with pull tabs made of tape two layers and a third of Saran type rap the unit was much nicer than I expected new a little contact cleaning and it was fine my last one lasted me thirty years so I think I’m done but happy !

    Overload protection

    It has overload protection. The white button is a circuit breaker pops out when there a overload. Like you have the meter on ohms scale and put the test leads across 12 volts.
