In 1978, this camera model was released. The Minolta XG-1 is a traditional camera body that shoots directly on film. It gives you complete manual control over your image. You can set the shutter time from 1 second to 1/1000 of a second. You’ll be able to expose for a still-life portrait, a fast-moving athlete, or anything in between.The built-in light metering capabilities will always give you a clear read on how your shot is exposed. In the center-weighted mode, you can aim at specific portions of your frame and measure the exposure value. This is especially important to do when you’re shooting on film. When set to manual operation, the XG1 allows for control over the aperture and shutter speed.While the XG-1 has full manual operations available, it also shoots in autofocus assistance modes. If you need to quickly get a picture taken or don’t feel like fussing with settings, just switch modes for quick shots. You can shoot in aperture priority mode, and the XG-1 will assist you in making all of your exposure choices. Even when set to auto, you have great image control. You can select up to two stops of under- or over-exposure, which means you can really paint with light like a true photographer.This camera accepts interchangeable lenses, so you can always choose the best lens for your shot. You can set manual focus on any lens compatible with Minolta MD lens mounts. Minolta lenses are also sometimes referred to as Rokkor. The XG1 also comes equipped with 1/60 flash sync capabilities, which assist you in taking clear and bright pictures. Its 1/1000 maximum shutter speed also helps you snag action shots with clarity. Additional features include battery-powered operation, exposure compensation, an electronically timed shutter, TTL flash auto exposure, and a self-timer. There are several models of batteries suitable for use with this product.     Almost like new....

    The only bad thing I could say about this camera is that it didn't come with a body cap to protect the mirror and interior from dust! It presents very clean. Leather is in tact, fits well, and has virtually no flaws. The only thing I can find that's not original is the neck strap loops, which should be triangular in shape and have a plastic retention clip inside. The hot shoe is functioning, the auto feature is perfect, metering is dead-on, and frame advance is crisp. I can't wait to take it out for some old-school film shooing.

    Camera body is beautiful but it doesn't work

    The listing made it seem as though the camera functions but even with new batteries and film the shutter doesn't fire so it cannot take photos. The body of the camera is in beautiful shape. Hopefully I can get it repaired.
