    MTD (Safety) Brake Control Cable

    Easy install with no tools used. A pair of pliers may have made the old cable removal easier, but we succeeded without them. eBay's "Tell Us More" questions are irrelevant and humorous... "Is it easy to start?" , whoever heard of starting a cable?; or "Is it compact?"... it's a cable... no bigger or smaller than all of them used on lawn mowers. More appropriate questions would be like "Was it easy to install?, or "Did it fit like the original? (yes to both BTW)

    This Stens part is BETTER than cheap aftermarket or OEM from MTD

    This part is the old style control cable with the cuff that attaches to the mower handle. Stens still manufactures this to the original specification. Although Stens is an aftermarket supplier, I feel that they manufacture a superior product for this application. This is a superior design to the updated MTD part. The new "updated" MTD part only has a small retainer without a cuff to secure the cable to the handle. This new design is inadequate for heavy usage, the retainer flexes and pulls out of place. I would recommend this control cable over an OEM cable or other aftermarket suppliers.

    Good product

    Great replacement part for my mower. I didn't need to take the mower to the repair shop and pay their prices. Made the fix very inexpensive. Now it works like new.
