Helps suppress cough and makes you sleepy, too, for a good night's sleep
Strictly to suppress cough and dry secretions so you aren't hacking up mucous all night, so you can sleep. You MAY need plain guiafenisen (AKA plain 'Robitussin') in the morning, to help loosen up the stuff that dried out in you lungs overnight, though. It contains dextromethorphan, and the antihistamine which dries you out and makes you sleepy. Robitussin no longer makes this particular combination cough syrup.
