I bought a new PC and upgraded the video card and was anxious to see what a decent game of today’s technology would look like. I’m also a history buff so Heroes of the Pacific seemed like a logical choice. Wow, I was not disappointed. It looks and feels great. You are there Dec. 7th for the attack on Pearl Harbor. It doesn’t go so good. But all is not lost. Next mission takes you to Wake Island, and so forth through the whole WWII Pacific campaign. It’s emotionally charged action. And they get you flying a fighter plane right away. I like that. I hate games that make you waste time reading the directions. Real men never ask for directions. Anyway, this game is fun right out of the box, intuitive, and it gets progressively more challenging as you gain skills and win battles that also get you plane upgrades. I let my 7 year old grandson try it and he was shooting down Jap Zeroes and bombers faster than I was, so I bought him this game for his 8th birthday next month. I’m 52. So that gives you an idea of just how far this game reaches to entertain a wide audience. I think it's also kinda cool that my grandson is learning about events in our history that every American kid should know about. So far the game seems to be historically accurate with realistic action that inspires you to dish out a lot of payback for “A Date Which Will Live in Infamy”. Let me at ‘em.Read full review
I really enjoyed the time the team who made this game put into it. They make you feel like you are actually an American Pilot during the WW2 time line. Engage in old skool dogfights your grandpa wouldn't shut up about. Flush Graphics and rapid game play keeps you playing to the end. The only complaint I have about this game is how stiff some of the planes are, but I guess that's how they really flew back in the day. This game should be tried by all gamers who like a challenge and blowing up the enemy.. oh ya!
its a really good game if you like flying games. great graphics and gameplay. its also very challenging, especially if you use a keyboard. i could barely beat the first mission on an easier skill level. id recommend playing with a gamepad (or a joystick might be better if you have one) because its a lot easier to control the plane
i liked the game on a free play plus it is simple to play. the price was right i cant think of anything to say.
Nice change and very realistic. Very nice to play something that isn't a generic port over flight sim.
