It has excellent resolution and color rendition and works very well in low light levels. I purchased this unit to replace the same model purchased in December 2011 that was accidently broken while on vacation. It is a real work horse for recording 1080P HD videos in a variety of settings, including capturing underwater videos using a water tight case and the "Aquarium" mode setting.

couldn't ask for better in such a small package. great HD video even in low light situations such as dance recitals. as long as you are within a reasonable distance with the 5x optical. even then from a distance. it is clearer than my old Harddrive camcorder. big screen, compact. doing a video blog or Youtube? this is your camera. starting with wide angle, you can get alot in the picture from very close. going from normal to macro is almost automatic. video has its own button on the back near the screen vs shared shutter button on the top. no confusion when pushing the shutter button or video button what your taking. only down downfall is when zoom is used while taking a video. is has a clicky sound that does record on your video.
good in both low light and full light, shoots HD video, takes decent size memory cards. My only complaint is that individual videos are limited to about 29 minutes, so taking video requires editiing if you're going to shoot individual videos longer than that. The camera is extremely compact, and the focus works great. Pictures are clear, and the flash works very well.

I bought this to start daily v logs. It's fantastic - great buy for the price. Lots of features (such as slo mo, fish eye, etc). Its a great starter camera. Very durable and fits in any pocket. The zoom can be a little loud - which can be annoying when your watching a video, and the focus can be a little off at times. But I've filmed around 50 hours already and I can say that I love this camera. I plan to buy a second one this winter to expand what our channel can do.
