A very good but basic camera
If you think of the Olympus C-160 as the digital version of the Kodak Box Brownie then you won't be disappointed. It is a no-frills basic camera which produces nice 10 X 15cm prints and is completely automatic in use. The sliding front cover protects the lens when closed by is easily made ready for use by sliding open that same cover. The camera has an usual feature in that it can produced 3-D pictures which means two prints side-by-side in the same frame. I heartily recommend this camera for anyone wanting to make nice pictures without being bored by details. i liked the camera i could see that before i bought it i was going to love working with it i now know where i would get one for my friend when she is ready the only thing i cant get is a spare memory card the one i had sent for does not fit it but there was one with my purchase i would recommend this camera to my friends love it thanks

Simple snapper
A regular digital compact. No optical zoom and a simple range of options via menu (eg exposure compensation, resolution etc.) so pretty easy to operate. Very plastic bulid quality but sliding cover works great. In use it gives adequate results although the high quality JPEGs still looked a little "over-processed" to me and there was a tendency to underexpose even quite normal scenes. A little Photoshopping put things right however. All in all a pocketable snap and shooter...A regular digital compact. A good simple compact. With useful features.
I like the sliding lens cover that can be operated with one hand. In fact it is easy to open and shoot with one hand only. Small enough to be unobtrusive in any pocket. A used one at eBay prices is very good value. Mine was just £9! I like the fact that the monitor and flash can be turned off and made to stay off to conserve power. Unlike some cameras I have had it will not revert to default settings if you do not wish it to. Pictures are fine in good light but it has difficulty in dim weather. i.e contrast and colour suffer. However using the "Night Scene" setting enables longer exposures and better results. I have not used the flash much so cannot comment. Uses two AA cells. Rechargeables give a good life, it has never expired on an outing taking 70+ high res. shots. Spot metering is ... I like the sliding lens cover that can be operated with one hand. Spot metering is available and works. I like the panorama function which works well but be aware that when you fit a bigger memory card they don't all support this. On the downside, if you fit a bigger card, you will have to find one of the old ones. It will not recognise the new M type in spite of what those who sell them say. Also it would be nice to have a date and time stamp with the pictures. There is an attempt at this but as it has to be reset every time you change the battery it is pretty well useless.

Amazing little camera... Does what you want & more
This is an amazing little camera.. Nothing to fancy. For taking snap shot's it works prefect. Very easy to use & it looks rather nice as well (so that is a bonus lol) It has features that I was not expecting. Having the macro setting is also really useful. For anyone looking to buy a little camera I would well recommend this Olympus.. It is of good quietly & as with all cameras made by Olympus you know it will last. Prefect.
