Not everything is for everybody.
Although I did buy the CD recorder for parts the parts that I need do not work. So the unit is useless to me. Again I bought the unit for the parts but the parts that I need do not work. if I had known that before I bought the unit I probably would have not purchased it. It is an attractive looking unit.

I own 3 Pioneer PDR-W739 CD Player/Recorders, with the 4th one on the way. Before buying one of these units, you need to ASK A FEW QUESTIONS, & you need to know HOW THESE UNITS WORK. The last unit I bought was suppose to be in perfect working order. IT WAS NOT!! These units can become jammed up very easily IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO OPERATE THEM. Pioneer Corp used MECHANICAL SWITCH'S insted of ELECTRONIC SWITCH'S, to save money. 1st, when you power the unit on, YOU MUST let it go through all 3 of it's "TOC"reads on the 3 left hand drawers, before you push any other function button. A mechanical switch, will allow another funtion to begin, before the previous function is finished. This is why many of these units, including the last one I bought, IS JAMMED. BEFORE BUYING a PIONEER PDR W739, you should ask this question of the seller, DO ALL 4 DRAWERS GO THROUGH THEIR "TOC" (TABLE OF CONTENTS) READS PROPERLY?? Every time you open a drawer, & then close it, that drawer does a "TOC" READ. Once you get an E-2 MESSAGE (ERROR), the unit needs to be taken in & apart for sevice. I you find a PIONEER PDR W739 in good working condition, it is an EXCELLENT Player/Recorder. As I said earlier, I have 3 systems, & I want a W739 with each system.

Liked the OEM brand. Decided to buy based on listing that stated the Record Side of the unit was operational. It was not. Hope to make repairs. This is one of the better "home" CD Recorders. Writes to "audio" or "music" CD media only.
