The sequel to 2009's arcade-style flight combat game, H.A.W.X. 2 has you piloting advanced fighter jets and other experimental aircraft while engaging in dogfights, embarking on nighttime bombing runs, and deploying UAVs to track targets. New to this version is the ability to take off and land on bases and carriers as well as refuel in mid-flight. Missions take place in Moscow, the Persian Gulf, the Arctic Circle, and the Indian Ocean. In an attempt to make each locale visually authentic, the developers used high-resolution satellite imagery to reconstruct the environments.<br><br>As part of an elite squadron specializing in black ops and surgical interventions, you'll follow the perspectives of pilots from three forces: American, British, and Russian. Among the featured aircraft are the F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II, Su-37 Terminator, Eurofighter Typhoon, F-117 Nighthawk, F-14A Tomcat, and the AC-130U Spooky. UAVs can also be flown to identify enemies, record conversations, and perform similar surveillance operations. While progressing through the campaign, you'll fly over mountains, deserts, coastal regions, and actual cities to complete mission objectives.

Good NOT Great
Graphics are old school and a little hard to place considering. Unrealism in todays world is not hard to do and the graphic we too simple. No free fly mode. Strict mission objectives only.

Good game, but not much better than the first
I bought the first one, beat it, and played it over and over until I decided to buy the 2nd one... was not really impressed. It's a good game, don't get me wrong. But I expected an improvement in graphics, the same (if not better), gameplay options, etc. I mean, in the first game you can choose from A LOT of different planes for each mission.... basically whatever you want. But in this one you have no options, it chooses everything for you (unless I'm missing something or you have to unlock that option). This had some great additions though: take off and landing whenever you need refueled or repaired (LOVE THIS ADDITION), refueling in air from fuel plane, and I noticed the handling and physics of the plane are a little more realistic (gravitational effects, stall, etc.). If they just added ... I bought the first one, beat it, and played it over and over until I decided to buy the 2nd one... was not really impressed. It's a good game, don't get me wrong. Its ok but not great
I was excited for hawxs 2. I played the first one and I liked it. But hawxs 2 seemed horrible compaired to the first one. You get less planes the missions all seem the same. When the planes stall the engines cut off aand then when you apply power the engines flicker like they are trying to cut back on. Did they really not do their homework to find out that a stall in a plane is not the same as a stall in a car the engines dont cut off come on people. I really wish that there was a really good flight game for ps3 and 360 but the bottom line is there isnt. Ace combat is probley the best you can get and they are not that great. The game also takes up 5gb on your hard drive. The game is also very short took about 10 hours or less of gameplay to beat it. Bottom line, I would save my money and ... I was excited for hawxs 2. Fun game to play.
Super flight sim. Individual aircraft flight dynamics are rendered very accurately. The inclusion of the added thrust of is a fun aspect. The scenery is rendered in good detail and use of color makes it seem very realistic. All in all, I like this game. I have played every flight sim that has made it to market and this is in the top 3.
