In the past couple of years I must have tried at least 5 different wireless routers that have great potential and some weaknesses or need for improvement. The TP-LINK router on the other hand is very unique in regards to setup and operation. It's "Big" very big and make sure you have adequate amount of room to place this device. 2nd....you have 2-options to configure and setup this device which either one will get you up and running. Of you need detailed setup configuration I would use the Web based setup for additional features. I've only been using the system for about a month so I can not comment on the long term effectiveness of the unit but short term. ...it's fantastic. Just make sure you check the router logs files regularly and fine tune you security settings. Lastly. I have Xfinity(Comcast) that offers the midrange network access and my speed went from 26Mbps to 32.5Mbps. Now that might not be much but at least it's more stable than before. Negative: with most big expensive routers there might be a heat issue that may degrade the performance of the device. Just keep a USB fan nearby just encase it happens. Overall I think that TP-LINK may have a winner and from what I've seen and used in the past. Their products are very reasonable and reliable.Read full review

The P5 can be used either as a router, or a range extender. I have 2 of them, one used a router, the other as a repeater. The repeater disconnects at least once daily from the router, rendering it worthless, and requiring a reboot to connect to the router again. Returning it soon if I can't get tech support to fix this.

Using this AC1900 as a repeater and it works well. Getting strong 2G and 5G signal. No more dead spots. Strong signal in the garage where I stream media when I am working on projects. It is also very easy to set up. Just follow the onscreen instructions.

Excellent router with fantastic coverage. I have a 4,100 sqft, two-story home and get coverage without the need for a mesh system. The touchscreen setup is simple and the easiest router I’ve ever installed. I have Spectrum high speed internet and using the 5ghz network settings I have 185+mps download in my second floor bedrooms and 300+mps Wi-Fi downstairs. My old router’s 5ghz range was only about 20” and a wall pretty much stopped it cold.

I have a large house with dead spots. I have fiber internet which is a gig or 1000 Mb per second. This repeater truly utilizes my gig service and helps eliminate dead spots. This is my second one. I might get a third one in the future if the price is right. People are realizing this is a good product and are jacking up the prices. Shop around for the best deal. The touch screen makes things easier but you must have some knowledge of internet protocol. If you have trouble YouTube how to setup.
