      I love this little MyPassport.

      The MyPassport works fantastic. It is nearly silent, and very portable. If you took it out of the protective case, you could easily slide it in a jeans or coat pocket and depending on the jeans or coat - perhaps it would even work in the case. MyPassport comes in different sizes and so while I am tempted to say "it holds a lot!" that would be a pointless observation as it could be said of anything that holds an equivalent number of gigabytes (in my case 500). I was excited to see that it connects just as quickly and easily to Linux as it does to Windows and it doesn't seem slow or lag at all. I have issues on occasion with an SD card freezing up or lagging but it is not the case with MyPassport. Any minor instances of lag I have experienced, it recovered on its own and quickly.       A simple and easy way to back up and store valuable information for me

      I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for extra storage space. I operate a small repair business and keep all of the customer contact information on a lap top. I occasionally backed up to a flash drive, four flash drives to be correct. Then one day during a very busy week the ole lap top failed to start. Okay, no problem I have all of the customer info on a flash drive, wait, which flash drive? After starting all 4 flash drives I decided somehow I had missed backing up the check in sheet with all of the phone numbers of the customers who we had jobs going. That time I did eventually get the lap top back up but I vowed never to be caught like that again.       Fast and reliable external hard drive.

      Currently, the fastest external interface is eSATA at 3.0Gbit/sec. Somewhere out on the horizon is USB 3.0 that promises to be 10 times faster than the current 480Mbit/sec. USB 2.0 standard. This hard drive provides you with a reliable source for storage. it is small and easy to carry it around.

      Great little Hard-drive!

      So far, so good with this item. Remember to format the Hard Drive when you get it. My IMAC initially told me that I did not have sufficient space on the HD, but I found information on-line that helped me with this issue. Also there is a software update for this product from WD. Overall a great purchase.
