About this product

Product Information

Making its GameCube debut, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets continues the adventures of the bespectacled boy wizard as he returns to Hogwarts to begin a second year of studies. Things do not go smoothly, however, as the game closely follows the events found within J.K. Rowling's second book in the international best-selling fantasy series. Harry Potter and friends Hermione and Ron must investigate a terrible danger: students are mysteriously turning to stone.

Assuming the role of the Boy Who Lived, players explore Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest from a third-person perspective. To help them in their quest, players can attend classes to learn a variety of spells. These spells are then used on enemies, but if they are not cast correctly, a comical or hazardous misfire may result. As players try to solve the mystery of the petrified pupils, they will fly around Hogwarts on the Nimbus 2000, participate in a 3D game of Quidditch, and converse with fantastical creatures such as Moaning Myrtle.

In addition to the main adventure, players can participate in a number of mini-games, such as removing the gnomes from Mrs. Weasley's garden, collecting Wizard Cards, or battling others in Dueling Club. Game Boy Advance owners can also link the handheld to the GameCube to access extra features. A Harry Potter sliding puzzle game is available for their handheld as well as an exclusive GameCube level in Gringotts Bank. While the Game Boy Advance version of Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets is required in order to unlock Gringotts, players will also be able to unlock an additional level for the handheld game: the Forbidden Forest.

Good seller, buttons on controller are sticky. Not mentioned in listing, it’s like some 20 year old goo in there, nothing that can’t be cleaned but should have been noted in the listing. Seller shipped incredibly quick and packed okay, tape on box was not enough to seal box and packing peanuts coming out, fortunately nothing was missing.

One of the better early console Harry Potter games.

I remember playing a little of this at my cousin's place, MANY years ago. So I decided to pick up my own copy, and see if it's held up after all these years. After all, many Harry Potter fans point to this as being one of the best console Harry Potter games. So far, I'm having a good time. My only complaint is that the camera always gets stuck on walls, when you are exploring tight spaces. And sometimes, the controls feel a bit stiff. But the Gamecube and Xbox versions often feel better than the PS2 version, in my opinion.

  • Harry Potter 2 Loads of Fun!!!

If you liked or love Harry potter movies or books, You'll love this game. I bought it because I have played it before, and it puts you in the world of harry potter much like the books. You experience the story, but you carry it all out. I love collecting things in games, and what do you know; The witches and wizards cards fill that nich. The harry potter games are perfect for any harry potter fan, and the difficulty is reasonable for anyone. I love the fact that the entire castle can be explored, even after you beat the game, although my desire to play after I beat it was lessened. Its like reading the book, if you pick it up again, it will be just as enjoyable the 2nd or 3rd time, but you will be more knowlegable of it. Great Game!!!

  • A blast from the past!

  • Great Harry Potter game.

As far as games based from movies, this one was great. There is a drastic change in graphics compared to the first game. It is fairly easy, and yet just difficult enough to drive you crazy for a couple of minutes while you are trying to solve the issue at hand. The downside to this game??? It takes too long to load between scenes, and you find that by having to pause and wait a minute or two to move on, you tend to get bored with it and want to move on to a faster paced game fairly quickly.
