I’ve made several recipes like the Corn Slaw and Carrot Salad. Everything I have made is excellent. Ottolenghi puts together great spices and little touches that enhance the basic taste of some common foods and move them up not just one notch, but many. Worth the price.

The focus here is on exploring unusual combinations of spices, mostly from the Middle East. Almost all of the recipes are plant-based, and all are exciting. All worth the effort . Not dishes to be whipped up at the end of a busy day; better to set aside a fair amount of time and immerse oneself in the process. After following the recipes exactly at first , I did begin to adapt some of them to my tastes; for example, he uses way more oil than I wish to. A couple of my favorite were: Za'atar Cacio e Pepe, and Noor's Black Lime Tofu (subbing dried white limes for black!) Guaranteed to "spice" up your cooking.
