About this product

Product Information

In the late summer of a long ago year, a killer arrived in a small city. His name was Alton Turner Blackwood, and in the space of a few months he brutally murdered four families. His savage spree ended only when he himself was killed by the last survivor of the last family, a fourteen-year-old boy. Half a continent away and two decades later, someone is murdering families again, recreating in detail Blackwoodrs"s crimes. Homicide detective John Calvino is certain that his own family-his wife and three children-will be targets in the fourth crime, just as his parents and sisters were victims on that distant night when he was fourteen and killed their slayer. As a detective, John is a man of reason who deals in cold facts. But an extraordinary experience convinces him that sometimes death is not a one-way journey, that sometimes the dead return. Here is ghost story like no other you have read. In the Calvinos, Dean Koontz brings to life a family that might be your own, in a war for their survival against an adversary more malevolent than any he has yet created, with their own home the battleground. Of all his acclaimed novels, none exceedsWhat the Night Knowsin power, in chilling suspense, and in sheer mesmerizing storytelling. From the Hardcover edition.

  • What the Night Knows...What a story!!

Having been a Koontz fan for a far back as I can remember...I have not always enjoyed EVERY single one I have read, BUT THIS ONE was amazing!! You will want to sleep with the lights on after you find out "What the Night Knows"!! Fully realized characterizations and more than just a "ghost" story, Koontz delivers all he's got in this book. I could not put it down, especially as I approached the ending! Don't miss it!

  • Yet to read but enjoyed all Koontz to date

I thoroughly have enjoyed Dean Koontz's books over the last four years. I picked one up then (One Door Away From Heaven) and have read 20 to thirty of his books since. Mind you until that time I had not really read much of anything since school, 1992. His literary expertise continues to draw me into his characters.

  • Excellent book!

This was probably one of the best books I have read so far by Dean Koontz. He one of my favorite authors and I have read many of his books. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that loves Dean Koontz.

  • Great Reading

  • A MUST read book, GGRREEAATT!!!!

GREAAAAT book!!! Nail biting, shadow-looking, over the shoulder checking, can't put down, gracefully disturbing. By far one of the best books I have ever read! (Including numerous Stephen King, Ann Rice, John Aubry Anderson.) A MUST READ!
