    A good book for it's subject.

    I have read this book for an Introduction into East Asian Civilization class and I have to say that it is very good at getting all of the subjects I need to know across and still keep my interest. Schirokauer does a good job of formatting his book in a way that makes it easy to read. Of course it is a history book so you would have to be interested in the subject to pick it up. Though I would highly recommend it to anyone studying Asian Culture.
