I'm a Manatee by John Lithgow (2003)
The story is absolutely wonderful. I was inspired to purchase after visting Homosassa Springs Park in Florida with my family. The park is a manatee sanctuary and my toddler son adored the gentle sea cows. The book has a catchy flow-atee and follows a boy as he frolicks through the water with the manatees. My son informs that he wants to swim with the manatees, too. The book is accompanied by a 2-track CD with John Lithgow singing the title song and the second track is an instrumental version of the same.The story is absolutely wonderful. The title is perfect.
The book and CD are so great. It educates about Manatees and introduces some interesting vocabulary. The illustrations make the story come to life. It is very comical. I would also recommend I Got Two Dogs book and CD also by John Lithgow. His talent shines in these books.

Subtle, entertaining introduction to conservation & self-appreciation.
Currently living at a marina and expecting young visitors soon. This birthday-book-to-be contains delightful illustrations & will help little ones understand what else lies beneath the surface of the water when those heads pop up for air! On the whole, whimsical, highly educational, and beyond cute! Will buy a second copy to keep for myself. p.s. LOVE the music.
