    Helpful for those going thru tough times

    This book helped me through a difficult bout of loneliness and depression. The author does a superb job of relating his life as a shepherd in South Africa with David and how he describes God as our Good Shepherd.

    A must read for pastors

    Many years ago this book was given to a dear friend of mine by his mother. He passed it on to me in Bible College. From an exegetical perspective Keller's insight as a real life shepherd are invaluable. His knowledge opens up Psalm 23 like I have never seen before. As a pastor for a number of years, now 60 years old, this Psalm, and Keller's running commentary shows us what we are to be about. I believe it is a must read for young pastors especially, but everyone will benefit from it. The pastor should view it as a job description on one hand, and on the other how God cares and loves him as the Great Shepherd. The latter is why it is encouraging to whomever may read it, a great encouragement. Lord bless ... stvg (1John 3:23)

    EXPLAINING A FAVORITE PSALM

    I memorized the 23rd Psalm when I was a child in Sunday school many years ago. It comforts me many times when I need comfort. King David of Israel wrote this Psalm as he tended sheep as a young lad, before he became King. This classic book has been around a long time. It goes into detail how King David used certain words to describe his relationship with the Lord God of the Bible. He likens God's watch care over us just as a Shepherd watches over his sheep and takes care of their every need. I imagine thousands of this classic have been sold. Its message is timeless and priceless.

    GREAT BOOK!

    I just love this book! I brought it for light reading about Psalm 23 and I love how it narrows down verse by verse and explains God's Love and guidance for us and it goes into depth of each verse. Totally recommend it. Just love it!
