A strange island in the middle of the pacific is where the adventure begins. Stranger still is the half-sunken ship found there. Finding a way aboard, and finding some of the ship's systems still functional seems to defy all reason. Yet these thoughts fade with the discovery of another human being -- a young woman in a ratty old hospital gown, trapped alone somewhere in a labyrinth of below-deck corridors and passageways.<br><br>Through a plot mechanic reminiscent of the PS2's Lifeline, Experiment 112 puts players behind a control board in a security monitor room, able to view different scenes all over the ship without setting foot in any of them. Instead, to guide the mysterious woman to safety, the player must continually check ahead to the next area, and warn her to prepare herself for any dangers that await.<br><br>Experiment 112 is designed by Lexis Numerique, the French studio that proved its penchant for creepiness with 2004's disturbing murder mystery, Missing: Since January.

A difficult but rewarding adventure game.
“The Experiment” (or “Experience 112” as is its alternative title) is one of the most original and unique adventure games I have ever played. Lea Nichols , the main character , wakes up in a ghost-ship in the middle of nowhere , overrun by strange and alien vegetation. It looks like a science vessel that has been abandoned for quite a long time. You watch her through a camera as she slowly gets off a filthy bed , removes a catheter from her arm and stumbles around the small room she’s in. It’s unclear who you are and what is your purpose. When she understands that you are observing her through a camera , she asks for your help…and the game begins. Instead of controlling Lea directly , like you would do in an ordinary adventure game , you have to guide her through the ship using a sophisticated network of cameras. You can’t communicate directly with Lea , you can only point her where to go and what items to use. You’ll have to work together to solve the mystery and find out what has happened to the ship and its crew. This is a unique idea that I’ve never seen in any other game , with the exception of “Captive” an old RPG of the early 90s where you remotely controlled a group of robots. The 3D graphics work fine but look a bit dated for a 2008 game. The backgrounds are good enough to convey the feeling of decay and abandonment but Lea’s model could have been more detailed. The interface is complicated and hard to master as it tries to simulate the controls of an actual surveillance system. It will take you quite some time to get used to it. The “Experiment” is designed for expert gamers and requires a lot of time and patience from the player. Apart from the complicated interface , the puzzles are hard and often the solution to a particular puzzle may be a small detail that is easy to overlook , like a code written on a small note on a desk or a keycard on a table so you have to slowly and carefully scan the environment for clues , using multiple cameras. You’ll often get stuck and frustrated , but if you dedicate enough time and thought to the game , it will reward you with its excellent atmosphere and compelling story. In conclusion , a tough but rewarding game that is worth picking up for its original gameplay.

Difficult game
This game is difficult to play since the camera shots are small and overlap if you are viewing more than one. The map gets in the way.

The Experiment
Maybe I'm just not a good game player, but I think the controls are much to complicated. Especially the little robot. I have tried about 10 times to get it out of that round room and I still can't!!! I give up. It's just not worth my time. Ps: Graphics are great!
