    Enchanting Witty and Wonderful

I never saw this Movie when it first debuted, It is Very well done. The Characters come alive in this Story, It has a Great cast That I feel works well together, I had recently learned about Asa Butterfield, I have not seen this young man do a better job then he did in this role. This movie is a real delight, I heartily Recommend it! In my opinion it is Five Stars.

  • I loved it. = Enchanting = Paris Rail Station = and Old movies! good story

I loved this film. I know it's received mixed reviews, but I found it enchanting. Yes the color seems a bit too enhanced at times, but I love all things French. I hadn't read anything when I was invited to see the film, so I had no idea what it was going to be. So it goes along very much like a children's film, but then goes into this most delightful homage to early film. And then the story really starts to make sense. The story plays out much like a clock work puzzle and the end is what makes all the parts make sense. I really enjoyed it. And again if you love all things French, as I do, you never get tired of spending a couple hours in France, even if it's only in a movie theater. It is a bit strange that all the French have British accents, but that's typical of British ...

  • Watch it Twice (or more!)

On the first viewing, I found the film a bit confusing and hard to folllow. Two days later, though, upon watching it again, I understood the overall plot, and was able to appreciate Martin Scorcese's artistry better. It us a rich visual tapestry -very busy with lots of movement. It was confusing, but on the second viewing, I felt that it fit into what Paris had become the late 1800's, and so I was drawn in. This is an homage to early filmmaking, most evident at the later parts, but the gears, automatin, train station, clockwork gadgetry and costumes make "Hugo" a seminal film of the Steam Punk movement. Watch the film, then find a nearby Steam Punk festival, let your inner child run wild, and you might just acquire a new hobby.

  • Enjoyable every time you watch it

My humble opinion, it is one of the great films and casting is superb. Scorsese didn't use green screen, and the cinematography and even the automaton are necessary characters to the beauty of the film. Its one of those movies that you can watch endlessly and always find something new.

  • I like any movie with Chloe Moretz in it, But this one would have been good even without her!
