About this product

Product Information

Searching for a treasure on the Nile, Dirk Pitt thwarts the attempted assassination of a beautiful U.N. scientist investigating a disease that is driving thousands of North Africans into madness, cannibalism, and death. The suspected cause of the epidemic is pollution that threatens to extinguish all oceanic life forms. In a race to save the world from environmental catastrophe, Pitt uncovers the truth behind two mysteries in the scorched desert--and makes a last, desperate stand in a battle he must win.

    Believable Adventure

Like other Dirk Pitt stories you have severable plots leading you along that eventually overlap and come together. Most books take me 2-3 days to read. Cussler novels take me about a week. There are times the dangerous activities make my heart race. His books, so far, are clean, with a tinged romance. There isn’t at foul language. Refreshing!

  • Sahara is an exciting story

I enjoy almost all of Clive Cussler's books. I had seen the movie but had not read this one. After reading Sahara I watched the movie a second time because it had been awhile since I had seen it. WHAT A SHAME it is that many will never read the book because they "have seen the movie." The book was so much more exciting than the movie. I realize the problem of getting everything into the movie because the movie would be so long, but the screenplay writers really muffed this one. I found myself actually feeling sorry for Clive. While I am sure he laughed all the way to the bank, but the story line of the movie was extremely weak when compared to the original. FORGET THE MOVIE!! BUY AND READ THIS ONE!!

  • Great Read!!

I am a huge fan of Clive Cussler and I've read all his books. I especially liked Sahara because it has a lot of action and twists in it. Once you start reading it, you can't put it down. The interesting twist Cussler put on the Lincoln assassination in this book actually began a discussion in one of my history courses in college about conspiracy theories. I highly recommend this book. You're going to love it.
