Exactly what I needed - works with no issues
I wanted to connect some old audio equipment on the other side of the room to my main amplifier, and running a 50 foot RCA analog connection is too far for that low level signal. My old audio equipment is at least 20 years old and does not have any optical out connections. So I converted the analog audio to optical audio using this converter, and ran a 50 foot optical cable to my amplifier. It works great! Very Happy with it. I bought it for replacing a long RCA cable run that I was having noise issues with. I'm using it to convert analog from my computers 1/8" line out to digital coaxial for a surround receiver. I made up my own cable with RG-6 cable with a RCA plug on each end. Much cleaner signal now. I'd say it eliminated 95% of my noise issues. As a note: it only passes PCM 2-channel audio, not dolby digital or DTS. You can still get descent surround sound with dolby pro-logic-2 or other surround decoding the decodes from 2-channel audio. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another if needed.Very Happy with it.
