The third times a charm.
The 3rd time is the charm as long as a franchise becoming a drinking game. Every time someone one says "Carol Anne" you drink. You'll be passed out drunk before the second act, as 1/4 of this script is full of the other characters yelling out Carol Anne's name. Another 1/4 is full of the other characters names being said or yelled out. Half way thru this movie you definitely know the names of all the characters. Again and again and again. Anyway, the effects were all on stage and they are very creative, effective and state of the art for the time this movie was made. The cinematography was really good as well. The music is moody and the acting is a bit flat, but good enough to keep you engaged. I'm hoping this new release version has some behind the scenes special features, as ... Although Poltergeist 3 is considered the worst on the franchise, it offers up a few good shocks and chills and is worth watching if you know not to take it seriously and have nothing else to do. And be prepared to hear Carol Anne's name to be mentioned over 115 times (yes, I actually counted). Heather O'Rourke is as loveable as ever. RIP. And watch for Aunt Trish to comment on Stephen Kings character Carrie. If you're a fan of horror, King or Carrie... You'll know what I'm referring to. Enjoy this guilty pleasure of a hidden but somewhat tarnished gem.

This movie is fantastic. From start to finish. I don’t understand why this one gets so much flack. Heather O’Rourke, Tom Skerritt, Nancy Allen, Lara Flynn Boyle, Zelda Rubinstein, Richard Fire, Alan Wilder (Home Alone), and Cory Burton, and Nathan Davis, and among others were great. FYI, the late Richard Fire was an acting coach on this film, as well, so—anyways 10/10 stars for this film.
