About this product

Product Information

The Revolutionary War as never told before. This breathtaking installment in Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard's mega-bestselling Killing series transports readers to the most important era in our nation's history: the Revolutionary War. Told through the eyes of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Great Britain's King George III, Killing England chronicles the path to independence in gripping detail, taking the reader from the battlefields of America to the royal courts of Europe. What started as protest and unrest in the colonies soon escalated to a world war with devastating casualties. O'Reilly and Dugard recreate the war's landmark battles, including Bunker Hill, Long Island, Saratoga, and Yorktown, revealing the savagery of hand-to-hand combat and the often brutal conditions under which these brave American soldiers lived and fought. Also here is the reckless treachery of Benedict Arnold and the daring guerrilla tactics of the "Swamp Fox" Frances Marion. A must read, Killing England reminds one and all how the course of history can be changed through the courage and determination of those intent on doing the impossible.

Item is complete and 100% as described. Shipping was reasonable and item packaged well and arrived 100% intact though-out the shipping process. My 3 star rating for shipping charges in no way reflects upon the seller (who I would purchase from again) but the involuntary expense involved. I was not involved with communicating with the seller so that also explains my 3 star for communication. It did not apply. I am sure the seller would communicate if it were necessary.

The seller was accurate in the description of may be damaged, have pen, highlight marks, dog eared pages, crinkled here and there. The book was bought for educational purposes and as such will suffice as the content is what was sought, not nessasarly the tattered cover. Book was put in bag and sent 3000 miles so it is difficult to say the shape it was in when it left. Will buy from seller again!! Tracking was incorrect but has NOTHING to do with seller. Helping a charity is helping a community.☺

    To the point!!!

Fantastic book which was recommended by my 96 year old, UK WWII tail gunner friend. The detail and depth is incredible. Should be read by the 1609 and 1775 group thinks. Someone might just learn something.

  • Typical O'Rielly Historical Work

As always, O'Reilly does not fail to both inform and entertain with the great amount of historical background that is always included in his Killing Series books. It does not just cover the event but the times behind the event.

  • Clever Way to View American History

This is a clever way to view U.S. History. Killing England is, basically, another way of saying American History. It is the Colonies of America tossing off the tyranny of English Monarch rule (hence, Killing England). Instead of all the Founders, it mostly focuses on a few of the Founding Fathers of America (such as, George Washington, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and such). As far as history goes, Mr. O'Reilly is anything but boring! He presents history (here, again, U.S. History) in a lively, interesting manner. Wished he had been my teacher when I was a kid!

  • If not for George Washington's unwavering focus, we'd have a King.

This is a very readable history that details the years of struggle George Washington endured to finally defeat the British. The book arrived on time and in perfect condition.

  • Killing England or we would not be here.

Killing England is another great, educational book by Bill O'Reilly and his accomplice. Reading these books you are able to learn history in an easy non-stressful way. Not like school. Pick one up and learn yourself something!
