Nickelodeon Fit is a great way to get your kids up and moving. This video game for Nintendo Wii encourages them to jump rope, hula hoop, and ride down the river with some of their favorite digital characters, such as Dora, Diego, Kai-Lan, and the Backyardigans. It's fun enough that everyone in the room can play, not just the person holding the controller. Nickelodeon Fit was designed in 2010 for Wii consoles by game developers 2K Play with the help of fitness expert Dr. Jackie Goodway. The intent is to encourage children to stay active even while gaming indoors. When you start the game, you'll find that it includes 30 games that improve balance, build muscles, and increase cardiovascular activity. These games are scientifically developed to help support healthful physical activity and development for children. With this game, parents can make sure that their kids stay physically active and get they exercise they need while enjoying their beloved Nick cartoon characters. The games on this Wii title are so easy that most children can play them on their own. Younger children may need adult supervision the first time they play but should quickly understand how to play. Picture instructions and videos onscreen help your child understand what he needs to do to follow the rules. It's intended to appeal to kids around four to seven years of age, but younger and older kids can enjoy these active games as well. Nickelodeon Fit takes full advantage of the popularity of the Wii among children as well as its capacity to sense motion. Kids will see every exercise demonstrated on-screen as they get involved with active play. Your child will engage in games that are themed to work with the characters. For instance, rafting down a river, throwing balls on the beach, and flying on top of an eagle are all games that your child does with the adventurous Diego while backyard favorites, like jumping rope, are played with the Backyardigans. These games are not only fun, they will also improve foot and hand coordination, motor skill development, and upper and lower body strength.This child-friendly Wii Fit game can use either the Wii balance board, the Wii remote, or both at the same time. Nickelodeon Fit will work on both the Wii and Wii U consoles. There are no special accessories required for your child to enjoy playing this game. Children can take turns being the person holding the controller or using the balance board, but other family members can do the same actions alongside the person controlling the on-screen character with or without accessories.     Great game for 6 year old

    My 6 year old loves this game. The adult version of Wii Fit does not work very well for kids, so I got the Nintendo Wii fit for kids and it’s perfect.

    A DEFINITE MUST HAVE...

    This game was a Christmas gift for my daughter from her grandparents. It really comes in handy when I can't take her outside to get some physical activity. My daughter is 3 1/2 yrs. old. We have had the Wii since she was a baby so naturally she would want to play as well. It may take a little time for your child to get used to the different moves but you should expect that. The controls are pretty easy for my daughter. After playing for 30 min., my daughter learned how to navigate her way through the menu! Once they get the idea of how to play, they will love it! They get to move all the different body parts. On rainy or really cold days I give my daughter the Wii remote and let her go for an hour (60 min.the new standard). Usually after an hour she is out of breath - she sits down and ...

    Great purchase. The kids love it.

    I bought this for my 2 of my grandchildren ages 4 & 5. They really like video games and felt this would let them play and get a little exercise at the same time. I also thought it would be a good thing to do when they can't go outside to run off some of their boundless energy. I like the section that lets you personalize a workout for them. One of them actually got a little sweaty jumping rope and running the relay race. I also like the option of using the Wii balance board or just the Wiimote. The smaller children do better with the remote since they don't understand how sensitive the balance board can be. They love the trophy room where they can see the medals and ribbons they've won.     Love, love, love!!!!

    My 4 year old daughter has lots of energy and it seems impossible to tire her our, but this game is amazing, she loves playing it, she gets a great workout. It's like she's been playing at a playground for hours. It's the perfect game for those cold winter months when you can't go out to the playground or for rainy days. This game is great and she loves it as much as I do! Enough different games and excersices that she won't get bored with the game. Everytime it's a new adventure! 5 STARS!!!!

    Excersizing and fun in one!

    This is a great fitness game to get your kids involved in. (especially during the cold months when they can't get outside) It takes fitness and your kids favorite cartoon characters and combines them into several fun games that can be played together or alone. Don't forget to have the wii balance board handy to make the game even more fun and challenging. This game will keep your kids busy for hours all the time excersizing and having fun!
