Quiet Simplicity
This is my favorite CD by AKUS. A friend of mine burned me a copy about 5 years ago because she really liked it & thought I would as well. I have since bought my own & still listen to it frequently. My first impression was that either Alison or whoever chose the songs for this CD had just broken up with someone or was just feeling quite romantically melencholy. Most of the songs are quiet in nature and speak of lost love and chances. A very good CD to listen to if you're in a blue mood. My favorite track is "Ghost in this House". It really touches on the lonliness and isolation many feel after losing a love whether through a break-up or death. The only song that I don't care for is "Never got off the Ground". Forget About It - Krauss, Alison CD 1999
Bought this disc because I liked, "Raising Sand," with both Ms. Krauss and Mr. Plant..., (I usually have to give a recording several listenings so that I can catch the depth of the performances.) I find that this is another surprising performance by Ms. Krauss! I am glad that I had the opportunity to hear Raising Sand first so that I have something to compare Forget About It to. I have to say I am not disappointed either. Her voice runs from seductive and sultry to calming and one that the listener's imagination can easily run away with!
