I've been playing this game for years and it always scratches that spot for racing and running for the cops. Keeps me from having to do it in real life. Graphics are getting a little old, but still fun and exciting.

We'll did get them, tho they were a bit disappointing. 1024p was the max resolution I could get, even when I went to custom set 1080p it just didn't work. Nfs underground is the let down one of the two. Same 1024p and less options overall even for a controller it feels out of place and extremely sluggish even with a rtx 1080 8gb OC'ed

The storyline to this Need For Speed game is simple. You start at the top, and race one of the "top dogs" in racing. Something happens to your car, and you lose the race no matter what. From there, you get caught by the cops and get your car impounded. After that, you have to start from the bottom and work your way up to the top by beating all of the members on the "Black List." With every Black List racer, you have the opportunity to either take their car (Race for pinks), receive a "prototype" vehicle modification, or some other miscellaneous things such as cash, an impound strike, and so on. With every Black List member defeated, you can unlock other vehicle modifications including vinyl, performance, and detail modifications. This game's graphics are stunning. The cut-scene graphics are, from what I believe, acted out, and generated into the game play. When the car speeds up to roughly 100MPH, the screen gets a blur to generate high-speed driving. The police pursuits are amazingly fun. There are five levels of wanted, and each level higher makes you receive a more difficult chase including spike strips, road blocks, and other challenges. It gets frustrating when you get caught, though! The vehicles have multiple modifications that you can place on it to suit your personality. On the negative side, the game does get a bit repetitive along with most of the other "Need For Speed" games. From the other Need For Speed games that I have played, this is (by far)the best and most challenging in my opinion. Other than that, this is a great game. Nice job, EA.Read full review
Ok, so hears the deal: Underground 2 is all about driving to the location of secret or know races, while narrowly avoiding traffic along the way to get your NOS up. Pimpin your ride out with hydraulics and an awesome stereo is a great way to kill time. Then you can kick it in to overdrive with one of the most extensive garage performance tuning system. If you absolutely can't get enough of this game, you may not like Most Wanted as much. Comparing Underground 2 and Most Wanted at the same time would be almost like comparing comparing Cruisin USA with PGR; They are both just racing games with completely different premises. Here's the schpeel on Most Wanted. In this game, they replaced a few of old race types (drift, street X, URL) with new ones (speed trap and tollbooth) which are actually quite fun. Your NOS refills slowly just with driving over about 80 MPH. When new performance upgrades are available, you put them on your car and that's it, no tuning it up. The performance tuning is extremely simple: instead of 50 different little bars to slide left and right, there are only 7. Don't get me wrong, you still have to tune your car so you don't lose, you just spend more time driving and less time in a garage. Here, in my opinion, is the major deciding factor in whether you like Underground 2 or Most Wanted: the police. In Most Wanted, the police have a very extensive system to catch you or to give a hint on where not to go. You actually listen to the police chatter and because of that, know where to run to, to either run away from or attract the attention of the police. Now it's your choice to decide whether you like running away from the police, or whether you like spending 3 hours getting your turbo fixed just right and making your car look as cool as you please.Read full review
This game is legendary and really changed the way people see racing games. It is action-packed and finds a way to entertain you from start to finish even if you don't like racing games. Legendary soundtrack, intense police pursuits, great vehicles and beautifully designed open-world are what this game has to offer. Great features to this game was the nitrous and the speedbreaker that really allowed endless possibilities on how to drive your car. Even beginners can look amazing driving their hot rods. This game gets you addicted on every event from circuit races, sprint races, lap-knockout races and drag races. There are also tollbooth and speedtrap events that tests your speed and driving skills. The most entertaining event of the game however is the milestone events given by the 15 Blacklist racers. Milestone events are used to rack up your bounty by causing havoc on purposely-engaged police pursuits. During police pursuits you can complete milestone goals such as dodging a certain number of police roadblocks and spike strips, hitting a certain number of police vehicles, getting a certain number of cost to the state by hitting vehicles and damaging property and getting points on your bounty and committing infractions. However to be successful, you have to evade the police pursuits after completing the milestone goals for that pursuit also. To escape you can simply outrun the cops and use open-world map navigation to plan your escape or use pursuit breakers which are fragile objects around the city that you can use to immobilize police vehicles. Another great event to this game is the photo ticket milestone event which is to get a certain miles per hour. After you win enough races and complete enough milestone events and rack up enough bounty you can challenge a blacklist racer and if you beat them you can choose 2 slips that will range from impound strike, get out of jail free, extra cash reward, customizable and performance upgrades and the pink slip. The pink slip allows you to have ownership of the Blacklist racer's car. These slips are picked by chance but if you always want to get the pink slip turn auto-save off and challenge the Blacklist racer. If you fail to get the pink slip you just simply turn off your console and the start the game again from your last saved point and attempt to get the pink slip again. There are also a great number of cars that you can purchase with cash you earn in events at car lots around the city and you can also take your cars to car shops to upgrade them with customizable features and enhance their performance. The police pursuits are the aspect that receives most attention of this game and is really what the whole Need for Speed series is all about but racing is extremely fun too! Even if you find the racing boring the music from the game will keep you entertained. Some racing events will feature police pursuits that you will force you to outrun the cops after you win the race. Need for Speed features a great storyline where you are a protagonist that is on a journey to become the number 1 Blacklist racer and the Most wanted illegal street racer of Rockport city. Cutscenes are great and the game has a epic introduction and ending. The worst consoles to get this game is the PS2 and the gamecube which has horrible graphics and takes away the beauty of the game. The best consoles to get it on is the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 which is slightly better than the original xbox due to enhanced graphics but the police lights look much prettier in the original xbox. This game also changed the way we see police pursuits. Other Need for Speed games just require us to simply outrun the cops. This game requires you to create havoc during those police pursuits through milestone goals before outrunning the cops. This game has great online multiplayer and also has quick-play and challenge series where you complete 68 challenges that test your overall-skills. The 68th challenge is the hardest which forces you to survive a 30 minute police pursuit and then evading it after the 30th minute. This game features 5 heat levels where the cops get more aggressive and execute different tactics to stop you as you get higher in heat levels. The special heat 6 level happens during the final police pursuit in the story mode where you have to evacuate the city from a broken bridge and also makes it's appearance in the 68th challenge in challenge mode. This game also features a rap sheet that keeps track of all your records in police pursuits as well as the records of other blacklist racers. It is optional to break the records of the other Blacklist racers. In heat level 1 police civic cruisers chase you. Heat level 2 police civic undercover cruiser. Heat level 3 police state cruisers. Heat level 4 police state undercover cruiser. Heat level 5 police federal cruiser which has nitrous and can easily catch up to you in high speeds. Heat level 6 has police federal undercover cruisers and Rhino SUVS.Read full review
