About this product

Product Information

An update of the arcade classic Robotron, Robotron X for the PlayStation adds a 3D environment, multiple perspectives, new music and sound effects, and larger characters to what is essentially the same game. As in the original, you are a genetically enhanced man in the year 2084, shooting scores of Robotrons, a species of manmade (apparently fascist) robots who have decided that human beings are imperfect and must be destroyed. Your mission is to protect the last family, thereby saving humankind from extinction. The odds are against you, though, as wave after wave of giant robots and other dangerous objects come at you without ceasing from all sides of the square play field. You can run and shoot any direction as you desperately fight for your life, while trying to rid the screen of the evil Robotrons and rescue the humans from their terrible fate. Once the screen is clear, you move on to the next level and a fresh wave of your enemies attacks, leaving you running and shooting for your life.

    Classic Arcade Action

    Robotron X is a below average remake of the arcade game Robotron. Robotron X is essentially the same game but it features 3D graphics, which look pretty bad. Robotron X doesn’t really add much to the original game, other than the “updated” graphics. I don’t care much about graphics but they are sometimes hard to look at in this game. I would have liked to have seen some new modes or something that add a bit of variety to the game. I prefer the original version; get Midway's Arcade Treasures, the first installment has the original Robotron on it. Pros: - Classic arcade action - Plays just like the original Cons: - Awful 3D graphics - Doesn't add anything to the original game

    It's a fun game if you like destroying AI , and saving Mankind. You'll have a good time with it .

    What a great PS1 game to be 13 year old game. The 3D action is incredible. If your a old-school arcade gamer or even a newbie. This is definitely one to pick up if you can find it.
