Is it truly fair to compare the new with the classic? In this case, I think the answer should be no, yet should be viewed for what it is, as a whole..
In comparison to the 1992 Disney Classic, in which Robin Williams made Iconic. I can only say that the new 2019 live action movie of Aladdin, starring Will Smith, doesn't quite stack up. But if we set aside that factor, and take time to view the movie as a whole, and truly see it for what it is. Thus, whom is to say, that Will Smith didn't do an astonishing performance? After all, Will Smith were not aiming to compete against Robin Williams, but yet aiming to be his own version of the Genie; and with all said and done, it really wouldn't be so fair as to compare the two. Overall, I consider the movie very good for what it is, and quite worthy to be added to my movie collection. In which case, I love it!
