Good mid grade camera.
The dcs5222 camera works ok. I would not say that 720p is HD, but 720p is more like standard definition. Like many dlink cameras the setup is somewhat difficult, but after the setup is complete, its easy to use. Pros, ok video and audio quality, very good range on night vision about 20 feet, sd card recording, can send motion alerts to mydlink app, pan and tilt feature, video image manually focusing ring. Non pros, initial setup is difficult, video can be grainy or not clear, video slightly less clear in night mode, pan tilt motors make some noise not too loud though. Not so easy to install BUT a solid camera for the price.
Camera is NOT an easy plug n play device. You should understand your routers and technical quirks before you invest. Took me hours to get it to connect properly. Upside is camera is solid built and when you get it working has an excellent turning radius. I purchased this to couple with D-links Nvr because it was listed as compatible. Thats where the majority of the techy quirks came into play. The item needs to be hard wire connected to router to do an easy setup and you should know the IP address so you can access the cameras onboard setup. There you can correct and adjust the settings. Camera is NOT an easy plug n play device. You should understand your routers and technical quirks before you invest. Took me hours to get it to connect properly. Slow performance
The device could be much better with a software update. It lacks of network storage recording, and too slow when you open the application and connect to the device from your phone, and that doesn't change even if you connect the camera using LAN wire. Sometimes the image goes black and you have to restart the application

Defected!!
A brand new product has to upgrade firmware. Upgrade information came up every time login. When upgrading firmware, connection dropped off and camera defected. As a brand new camera, it should come with newest firmware or should have not upgrade option.
