    would think twice

    cable would not fit in to my phone, utility cord would not plug into the unit..small book with instruction very fine print had to use magnifying class and directions were confusing. mine came with batteries so I most likely got a returned item. got it to record and play back worked fine sound was ok for a small unit.

    Recorder to Record Telephone Calls

    Well I finally got around to trying my telephone recorder I purchased in July. The price was right and I received it quickly. The problem I have is that the telephone line in receptacle and the telephone line out receptacle on the unit are too little to accept the phone wires in our house. I am sure I could search the internet and find an adapter but I have no interest in doing that.

    Quality of an overseas product

    Was promoted as a product to record phone calls but also could be used without the base to record lectures, ect. Have not used it to record phone calls but took it to a doctors appointment to record test results. Have to be within 2 feet of microphone and in line with microphone for it to capture voice. More of a toy than a tool.

    Works great!

    If you don't know what a two-piece telephone looks like, you best not buy this! It's that simple. It won't work with a cordless! Or a one-piece phone. Otherwise, the unit works like a champ. I ordered a second one for another phone. I added DC power supplies to each, so that they don't run through batteries, since I leave them on in Voice-activated mode all the time. (You could easily let it automatically turn off, but then you'd have to reach over and press the Record button when you wanted to save a conversation.) Seller delivered it in a timely manner and I highly recommend them.

    A winner from Radio Shack.

    This device has multiple uses. I needed only one: voice recording, and it's perfect for that. A real bargain (sadly due to the demise of Radio Shack). So it's a winner, even though RS was not, alas.
