    Good speakers system but subwoofer lacks volume control.

    Overall sound is very good. Appearance of speakers is excellent. One problem : absence of a volume control of the subwoofer - had to shove its face against a solid wall of a cabinet to make the sound acceptable.

    Violent pop in the bass speaker

    Violent pop in the bass speaker. I was disappointed in that when I unboxed this thing it had so much packing nothing could harm it and it was sent that way. It sounds good at low volumes but I like to turn it up a little sometimes. It might be an internal electrical connection failing. Just disappointed.

    Altec Lansing 221

    Dollar for dollar you won't get a better a sound for your computer. Metal covers protect the speakers. I use two of them and it sounds like a concert. Very satisfied.
