All and all an amazing and deep synthsizer/sampler!
Solid, well-built, heavy (90lbs), 88-key, weighted action uber-synth/sampler with more output and connectivity options than you can shake a stick at. Weighted action is nice, but you will not mistake it for a real piano. Extremely powerful and deep synthesis architecture; really requires a visual editor to ease programming. KDFX system built-in with excellent effects (reverb, delays, overdrive, etc.). Two ribbon controllers that respond to touch and pressure and accepts breath controller input (nice). It will take an internal SCSI drive or connects via a SCSI connector on the back to hard drives, CDROM, or zip(!) drives. Killer vintage synth/sampler...
The K2600XS is one of the best studio keyboards ever made. However, like all electronics that ultimately rely on computer technology for their function, this board is now a bit antiquated, but the fact that I could get it at a fraction of the price it originally sold for made up for it. Unfortunately, UPS did a number on it and I had to send it back. They really destroyed it! If you are going to ship something as large and relatively fragile as the K2600XS (90 lbs and ends made of plastic!!) it may behoove you to have someone pack it professionally.The K2600XS is one of the best studio keyboards ever made.
