Continuing where the Dreaming Void left off. The Living Dreamers are still planning their voyage into the Void and the Void is continuing to expand as the Starflyer seeks to find the Second Dreamer. As the action continues to unfold we find that events are leading to an exciting climax that will take place in book 3: the Evolutionary Void This is a great series and one that I highly recommend, however, since many of the characters are from previous Commonwealth books I highly suggest you read those books first: Staring with The Night's Dawn Trilogy 1. The Reality Dysfunction (1996) 2. The Neutronium Alchemist (1997) 3. The Naked God (1999) then Commonwealth Saga 1. Pandora's Star (2004) 2. Judas Unchained (2005) You will get more enjoyment out of these if you have the background from those stories, they are mentioned many times in the Void series and many of the characters return.Read full review
The Temporal Void is the concluding novel of Peter F. Hamilton's Void Trilogy (The Dreaming Void and the Evolutionary Void are parts 1 and 2). In the finale, Hamilton shows masterful story weaving skills as he integrates heroes from days of yore with current-day characters and events. The separate universes of the story come together amidst fantastic traverses of space and time. Much is explained. An entire religion has the rug pulled out from beneath it. Although the story's trick of being able to reach back through time to correct mistakes feels a bit contrived, overall the book is a great conclusion to a remarkable story.
