This is a wonderful tale of a child who has been shifted from place to place, finally finding out what love and being part of a family is all about. Hollis Woods is closed off and hostile, but expresses herself through her drawings. When placed with an older artist, she begins to open up, only to have things change again. This was made when Hallmark Hall of Fame films were more than light-weight holiday romances with predictable endings and when they used actual film stars ie: Sissy Spacek and Alfrie Woodard. If you like Hallmark films, great acting and a good story, you won't be disappointed.

As an elder myself, I related to Sissy Spacek's part but also Hollis' part as the foster child. Good plot, good acting. I bought to share with grandchildren!

We have been extremely fond of this movie ever since Hallmark first showed it. WE kept it as a recorded movie on the DVR & would watch it over again, until it got lost somehow. Every few weeks we would check to see if Hallmark was going to rerun it, but it wasn't happening. So my husband ordered our own copy as a surprise for my birthday. It is such an enjoyable, clean and happy movie in the end.
