Good replacement VCR for Home Theater systems
With more than 500 movies and shows on VHS cassettes, when my old VCR died, I needed another as I did not want to replace and could not replace all the tapes with DVDs. As I have a Dolby 5.1 system, I did not want a "cheap" machine, but did not need a lot of "bells and whistles" either. This VCR fills the bill nicely. First, it is a stereo machine, with better than average sound quality into my home theater system. Second, it was easy to install into my system in the place of the broken unit. It has a decent slow motion feature and a good freeze frame feature. Although mine came without a functional remote, the manual functions on the unit work fine, and I was able to program my universal remote to do MOST, but not all the functions. Most irritating is the rewind and fast forward are slower than the two other machines that I have had. The fact that not all functions were able to be transferred onto my universal remote is a minor irritation. I have not tried the record function of the machine, as that function is now done by my DVDR. For my uses, playing pre-recorded VCR tapes and my own of older TV shows, this is a very good machine.

Nice Player, good seller.
I have not as yet tried all the things that this player should do but so far I am pleased with what I have seen. I am anxious to look at movies we made 30 and 40 years ago of the family. The machine itself is a nice addition of the electronics and so far has been easy to work with. The VHS tapes I have watched have been good.
