State are known defective.
The remaining Carquest brand stats have been liquidated. This was a known defective product that was bought up at the liquidation of Carquest items. We had dozens of em in stock got thrown away. Advanced Autoparts bought a major majority of these thermostats with the disclaimer this thermostat should only be used with a factory OEM pump. The fact is this was to avoid honor the warranty and labor claims. The stats are the same OEM designs it is just they used the wrong tempered metals in the construction of the stat is what the real fact is. The remaining Carquest brand stats have been liquidated. Did not fit had to quit
This thermostat did not fit in to my 2004 Silverado 5.3 L engine block as it said it would.As I had the old thermostat out in this new one would not fit inside the hole in the engine block I had to run to the local auto supply and purchase the proper thermostat that fit easily into the opening
