I did receive item. Whether the puzzle is complete remains to be seen. I haven't put it together yet. Hopefully it is a complete puzzle. I thought shipping was too high and when I responded to OR BEST OFFER.....response seemed computer generated to not accept any price except original asking price. No exact arrival time. Stay away from 1st gen. Bachmanns
The body of the locomotive was in good shape. The bodies of the tenders were in good shape. The locomotive would not run in either direction. The tenders had wheels disconnect from the trucks when it arrived. The wheels could be easily reinserted in the trucks. Apparently, with the 1st generation Bachmann J-class locomotives with the pancake motor, the drive gear slips. Furthermore, the wheel linkage mechanism was binding. The issues seem to be fixable, but if I had known the product was a 1st generation model, I would not have gotten it.The body of the locomotive was in good shape. Awesome model of an historic steam locomotive
Bachman Spectrum never ceases to please and the N&W 4-8-4 Class J is certainly no exception. This model, in HO scale, is finely detailed & includes a working smokestack. This one runs on DC, not DCC, so there’s no sound module but this DC-powered loco provides enjoyment for those of us that aren’t interested in running DCC.
