KENKO C-AF1 2X TELEPLUS MC7 Teleconverter (TC) for Canon
UPDATE 9/25/16: This item may defective. One of the contacts does not have continuity with the corresponding pin on the other end of the lens. This may be causing my problem with the AF and IS not working as mentioned below. I'm contacting Kenko USA tomorrow to confirm. As usual, caveat emptor on ebay. I'll be informing the seller of this problem as well. Purchased this item to use with my Canon T6i and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens. This TC was in perfect condition. Everything clicked together with no problems. This TC only works with EF, not EF-s lenses. Due to the structure of the mount on EF-s lenses, you may be able to get an adapter that will fit between the TC and the prime lens to allow the depth of the mount to lock in. Even though there are electrical contacts on either end of the TC, the camera cannot properly communicate with the prime lens. AF and IS will not function properly to the extent that the camera will lock up and give you an ERR01 error on the screen if the AF and IS switches on the lens are set to ON. The values on the camera's screen are erroneous as well. The only way to reset from the error is to pull the battery. If you want to use this particular TC with this type of lens, you can tape-off the contacts and go 100% manual focus. I did, and the pics came out reasonably clear, just need to support the camera/lens well to avoid shake. Using a tripod would be much better vs. free-hand. If there is an adapter that can be used to make this work with my len's features, I'd be interested. The newer Kenko DGX and HD TC's have a couple more contacts on the body, so maybe they'd work with my lens. Not going to spend the $$ to find out at this point.

A hefty workhorse
This wee beast is far weightier than I thought, and it's built like a tank. With the teleconverter in place, the images from my prime lenses are just as crisp as without it, and the electronic connections provide a seamless interface and a perfectly acceptable experience. My only kvetch is that the company made two iterations of this model: one uses EF lenses, and one is designed for EF-S. Because this is an EF mount, EF-S lenses are not compatible, so I'm limited to my 50mm prime and my 28-80 macro. That said, it's a fantastic unit, and I'm quite enjoying playing with it.This wee beast is far weightier than I thought, and it's built like a tank. works great on older lenses.

I !purchased this to use with my 1st generation Sigma APO EX 70-200mm HSM lens on my Canon 700D. It works flawlesly. AF was as fast as without and focus was spot on. No OS on my lens so I had to he extra careful supporting the combo. Image quality was much better than lens only crop. Overall, fits my needs perfectly...

2x lens multiplier
Having a limited budget but loving photography makes having the desired equipment difficult. This little multiplier has taken me from 2 lenses to four lens equivalent by making the lenses I have more versatile. I do have an add on 3x lens but with the main lens in full retraction the picture is in a circle so closer shots are limited or impossible. With this multiplier that problem is eliminated. I would recommend this to anyone on a limited budget for use with an ef lens camera like Canon. One note, you must use ef lenses, ef-s lenses will not work because of the extended end on the camera end. However ef lenses work quite well on cameras that use ef-s lenses like my rebel. The only thing you lose is the anti shake but with practice you will be able to manually steady your camera just ...
