Slow Starter
The item I got came with batteries but they did not work. The first batteries I put in did not work either but the next did. The Viewer does its job. The picture is not gigantic but better than looking at the slides into a lamp. It does what ii is supposed to do. But I feel the "quality" is not as good as the ones I used long ago. But then again what is?

Just What I Needed
Perfect......for the amount of money I wanted to spend and viewing my mothers 1950-1980's slide carousels. I am selecting the "keepers" , and discarding the others no one would want. It iis just what I needed to begin this big project.

Great little personal viewer
I bought this product for a specific project. The viewer is nicely compact and works exactly as it should. It was perfect for my project, which was to sort and catalog old family slides for conversion to DVD. The batteries are easy to install and the light gives the perfect amount of brightness to view a slide clearly. Operation of the viewer is totally manual. You insert a slide, push a bar at the top of the viewer to turn the light on, view the slide, remove it, and insert the next slide. Functioning as expected.
Expected viewer to be old since no one uses slides anymore. It was functional, but I had to take out the old corroded AA batteries and clean the connectors.
