Product Information

Sega's 1987 arcade hit has made the translation to the Genesis, offering gamers six different music tracks, 21 increasingly challenging stages, and three difficulty levels. The game is played from behind your Navy F-14 Tomcat as you blast oncoming fighter planes trying to bring you down. Perform complete barrel rolls by holding left or right as your machine guns continuously fire at anything in their path. Speed up by activating your afterburners or slow down to get a lock on your target. You also have a limited number of AIM-54 Phoenix missiles on board to use as you see fit, which can be replenished after completing a series of stages (a plane will fly overhead and automatically load them onto your F-14 Tomcat). Each stage will have you flying over different terrain such as water, sand, bushes, snow, rocks, and even at night. No need to worry about fuel, landing, or countermeasures--just keep swerving to avoid those missiles, and down as many bogeys as you can!

A simple action game.
A simple action game. -The Good -Missile System -Control Response -Level Design -The Bad -Graphics -Machine Gun System -The Summary -This is very simple action game. You go through levels, shooting down enemy planes, either using missiles or your machine gun. After a certain number of levels, the scenery changes, and so do the enemy. Every few levels or so, you missiles and health get refilled by a carrier plane. I sold my original Sega Genesis and all the games along with it.Eventually i went out and purchased another Genesis console and now i am restocking so to speak all of my favorite games that i had before and then some lol. After Burner II is a great game thats simple with it's pick up and play controlles and nice looking graphics coming from whats my opinion the best 16 BIT console ever made.Long live the Sega Genesis.I sold my original Sega Genesis and all the games along with it.Eventually i went out and purchased another Genesis console and now i am restocking so to speak all of my favorite games that i had before and then some lol.
