    Runs out, but is fixable

    I bought this chuck not expecting a lot, so I wasn’t surprised that it had 0.019” run out after seating it. I was however very surprised at how smooth it operates, as well as the overall build quality. The run out issue was an interesting fix involving a combination of finesse and brute force. After reseating it with a shop press, I found the high side, applied heat, and pressure using the table on the mill. After adding a few well placed smacks with a 1lb deadblow, it’s run out is just under a thou.

    worth the money

    This will be short. They claim .005 runout max and that is what I found; .005 runout at the nose. No drill chuck will be perfect and drilled holes are never perfect. This chuck sets no records but it hasn't released any bits while in use and it is not radically sloppy. I would buy another because it does what I need it to do for a very reasonable price.
