    Overlooked Gem of a western

    This is the only way to get this rarely-seen Widmark western. In its time, it would be rarely shown on tv because it was controversial to present the indian point of view. much like "Jesse James," another well-written western that presented the other side to the right of the railroads to under-pay for the railroad monopoly and then make huge profits once the transcontinental railroad was built. "The Last Wagon" happens to be wellk-written, well-paced and well-photographed on locales in spectacular color. More than that, the cast was finely picked, featuring Tommy Rettig (from "Lassie"), and Felicia Farr, Suzanne Kohmer and Nick Adams fresh from "Rebel Without A Cause," featuring James Dean. The film has an explosive finish with a trial presentation with a justice fair to all parties.

    The Last Wagon is a great movie. The DVD I bought was defective

    The movie was a great movie and I was totally enjoying it until the last 10 minutes. The movie stopped and every time I tried to replay that part of the movie (a very crucial ending) it would not play. I was totally frustrated and finally had to go to utube to watch the ending. Of course, then I realized I could have watched the whole movie and avoided purchasing it altogether. This product is defective.

    One of the best westerns ever !

    An exceptional movie with strong characters in a chattering story. Richard Widmark at his best. He plays a white man who has been living with the Indians for many years. His Indian wife had been murdered by white men together with his sons. Now he is seeking justiced. Difficult enough because it is the marshall he is after. Great movie.

    Richard Widmark Fans

    Anyone who liked Ruchard Widmark will like this movie. It has Indians, the US Calvary, and the bad guys are the white guys for once. It speaks about a time in our history when we didn't treat the American Indiana very well. I remembered this movie from years ago. I liked it then. And II like it now.
